‘Designer factory’

The Deepak Rugs factory is the extension of an already existing factory in the city of Varanasi. It consists of two structures – a G+3 factory building and a G+1 office block. The factory has been designed with large halls on all floors for flexible usage of spaces. Moreover, the exterior design diverges from the typical appearance of a conventional factory building, as structural elements that support the structure and façade have been employed to experiment with and enhance the building’s facade. A play of structural framing members is visible on the façade that act as fins and aesthetical element on the lower-level floor.
